Neil ParkerBerrima NSW, ph 0428 771 264![]() Raised on a farm, much of my youth was around livestock and working weekends in a dairy. I have always worked professionally in the area of animal husbandry and basic veterinary care and over the years have been exposed to sheep, pigs, horses, goats, poultry, deer and alpacas. I have a current certificate in Artificial insemination and Breeding Management and have a wool Classing Certificate. In my daily role I am responsible for the health and welfare of over 700 alpacas. My depth of knowledge, his extensive experience and significant skills in alpaca management, reproduction management, health and neonatal care is widely acknowledged. This has lead to work and consultancy roles both interstate and overseas. Exposed to the SRS® breeding discipline over a decade ago when I began at Coolaroo Alpaca Stud, I feel fortunate to have worked with Dr Jim Watts adopting a realistic approach to the challenges of a new industry leant from the wisdom accrued from the Australian Wool industry. I have been quick to embrace the harnessing of advanced breeding techniques such as embryo transfer as it became available. One of the first breed consultants for the newly formed SRSAI, I have been classing alpacas herds across the state of NSW since 2004. Several of those studs have enjoyed outstanding success in producing advanced fleece types and champion alpacas as a result of the application of the SRS® Breeding principles. |
